Port accessOn Sunday, Port of Bilbao Authority employees, together with their families, helped with the planting of native dune plant species on La Arena Beach, Zierbena, as well as with eliminating invasive species and collecting rubbish.
Improving the dune system on one of the beaches within the Port of Bilbao’s surroundings involved some fifty people, and forms part of the voluntary action days related to childhood or the environment which the Port Authority has undertaken at the request of its very employees.
The volunteers were joined by members of Centinelas de Cantabria (Sentinels of Cantabria), who explained the
peculiarities of this ecosystem and helped them to distinguish between invasive and native plants.
