Port accessMay, with 18 calls the highest month in the year
Today, Thursday 24th May, and tomorrow Friday 25th, the Port of Bilbao Getxo facilities will receive two cruise calls on both days. Today, Noble Caledonia’s, Island Sky with a capacity for 114 passengers will berth, as will WindStar Cr’s Star Breeze, carrying almost 200 passengers.
On Friday, Oceania’s Seven Seas Explorer and Silversea Cruise’s Silver Spirit, with capacities for 750 and 540 passengers respectively will arrive at the Biscay port.
May will be the month with the most cruise calls this year. Seven have berthed, or will berth, for the first time, one has docked overnight and two cruise vessels have coincided on four occasions.
The list will be completed with the MSC Magnifica, which will dock for the first time on Monday 28th, with a 2,500 passenger capacity, the Sea Cloud II (also 28th May), the Seabourn Ovation (29th May) and the Marina (30th May).
So far, 19 cruise vessels have berthed this year. The Port Authority of Bilbao expects to receive almost 60 such vessels in 2018. The highlight this season will be the chance Pullmantur’s Zenith offers to embark on 15th September.
