The cruise ship “Silver Moon”, of the Silversea shipping company, docked yesterday at the Port of Bilbao from Bordeaux and will leave tomorrow, Saturday, at 2 p.m., bound for A Coruña, after spending two nights at the cruise terminal in Getxo. This is the first time this cruise ship has visited the Basque Country. The vessel, which is 213 metres long, has 407 crew members and 530 cruise passengers of 20 different nationalities on board, mostly English, Canadians and Australians. Today, the passengers have spent the day on excursions around the area.
After its first satisfactory stopover in Bilbao, it has been announced that the cruise ship will return to visit us again on two more occasions next season. Wi-FI provision during the stopover, the shuttle service and tourist information inside the terminal have all been highlighted as competitive advantages of the port of Bilbao over other ports.
