The Port of Bilbao will once again have a stand at the PIN, the annual Children’s Christmas Fun Park in the BEC, to show children and the younger generation the work it does to preserve the marine environment and ecosystem. Through to 7 January 2024, the youngest members of the family will have the chance to take part in many games and activities designed for all ages to learn about the work the Port Authority is doing in the field of sustainability.
This year’s attractions include a new fun escape game designed for the youngest members of the house to learn to collaborate. As part of the activity, participants will have to solve various puzzles as a team to free humanity from the threat of an AI determined to cause a technology blackout and wipe out all electronic devices.
The Port Authority stand also includes a fishing net circuit with 8 aerial games, a self make-up area and a giant screen to show exactly what goes on at the port. Videos will also be shown to raise awareness of ocean preservation and what the port does to care for the sea, its flora and fauna.
Getting to know the Port
Another enjoyable way to learn more about the Port of Bilbao, the importance it has had over time, its present-day situation and the challenges it faces to be a sustainable, responsible and competitive port, is to visit the Port Center at the Itsasmuseum. This interactive and family-friendly initiative is designed to show exactly how the port works.
And those who want to see the port facilities in Santurtzi and Zierbena at first hand can sign up for the Ezagutu Portua programme, which offers free guided tours throughout the year.
