These years, the Port Authority has received several acknowledgements for this work done:
During the 4th International Conference on Occupational Health and Hazard Prevention held in Madrid on 18 and 19 June 2015, organised by the Castilian Society for Occupational Medicine and Safety, the video entitled “The Portu Osasuntsua Project. Experiences in Health Promotion at the Bilbao Port Authority” received the prize in the category of best conference video.
On 7 July 2015, we were acknowledged the Third-grade Gosasun seal (maximum level). The GOSASUN seal in Euskadi acknowledges commitment to the promotion of healthful living habits in food, physical activity and emotional health. The GOSASUN seal grants Innobasque and GOSASUN agent acknowledgement and dissemination before the Basque society to the activities bearing it. Activities opting for the acknowledgement of the GOSASUN seal have to be initiatives promoting healthful habits that do not form part of the usual business of an organisation.
On 12 November 2015, in the framework of the 2nd Healthful Company Awards announced by the PSYA, the Human Resources and Healthy Enterprises Observatory (ORH), the Bilbao Port Authority was honoured with the special mention for “Best Health Monitoring Programme”, in recognition of the work undertaken in its health promotion programme.
Likewise, on 10 May 2016, in the context of the First Encounter of the Spanish Healthful Companies Network: A 360º-perspective of Worker Health organised by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Hygiene (INSHT), we became the first company in Euskadi to receive the diploma acknowledging good practices promoting occupational health.
On 11 November 2016. at the First Prevention Prizes, we were finalists in the Large Company category.
Having obtained these acknowledgements, the Port Authority now purports to continue supporting health promotion among its employees, incorporating innovative projects while at the same time encouraging other companies in the sector to conduct similar programmes.
On 6 April 2017, the Bilbao Port Authority obtained the AENOR Healthful Company certificate that serves as the national standard, attesting to its having implemented a management system that promotes and protects workers’ health, well-being and safety along with the sustainability of the working environment. Thus, the managing entity of Bilbao Port has become the first Port Authority to obtain this certificate. Moreover, the company holds the diploma acknowledging its good practices in promoting occupational health from the National Institute of Safety and Hygiene as the first company in the Regional Autonomy of the Basque Country and the fourth in the country simultaneously holding the AENOR certificate and the INHST diploma.
