The Algerian Company CNAN Nord, represented by Transcoma Shipping, has made its first call at the Port of Bilbao.
Its multi-purpose vessel, Sedrata, equipped with 200-tonne cranes loaded a 113.5 ThyssenKrupp piston ring destined for the Algerian port of Oran.
The operation took place at the Vizcaya Dock and was coordinated by Geodis Forwarders.
Transcoma Shipping has stressed the Algerian company hopes that this first call may, in a short time, become a regular line connecting Bilbao and Algeria, as well as other north African countries, such as Tunisia, Egypt or Morocco
In 2014, general cargo traffic between Bilbao and Algeria increased by 30% over the previous year, and stood at 310.218 tonnes.
