The Port of Bilbao has been the venue for the loading of offshore suction anchors, together with their auxiliary components, manufactured by the Basque company Navacel and shipped and stowed by Toro y Betolaza. The anchors, weighing 53 tonnes each and 15 metres high, are for the oil & gas sector, and are bound for Mozambique. In a first shipment, nine anchors and frames have been loaded, and a second shipment will follow soon. The goods were transported from the Navacel plant in Erandio to the outer Abra along the estuary on the open deck general cargo vessel Peak Bilbao, and loaded a few days later on to the vessels Happy Sky and Happy Ranger, owned by the shipowner Big Lift. The estimated transit time is 30 days.
