On 5 and 6 June, the River of Bilbao Maritime Museum will host the VI Spanish Ports Internal Legal System Congress, jointly organised by the Spanish Ports Department and the Port Authority of Bilbao.
Some 80 Company Secretaries, Internal Lawyers and State Attorneys connected with the Port Authorities and the Spanish Ports Department will attend, and their main task will be to analyse from a technical perspective the new laws affecting the sector. Among these will be the recent Port Stevedoring reform and the new European Regulation pertaining to market access to port services and financial transparency of ports, in addition to bills proposing the transposition of directives regarding contracting, the changes in public administration sanctioning powers, the new legal system for inter-administrative agreements, port planning and environment assessment and the process for adapting to electronic administration.
