The Finnlines shipping company, whose agent and stevedoring company in the port of Bilbao is Toro y Betolaza, has added a new port of call in the weekly service connecting Bilbao with Saint Petersburg in Russia and which will allow a direct connection to be established with the port of Paldiski in the north of Estonia.
The new call in this Baltic state is in addition to the ones it has been making at various ports in Finland, the aforementioned Saint Petersburg, and Zeebrugge and Antwerp (Belgium).
The vessels due to operate in this service are three of the latest constructions added to its fleet and assigned to the North Sea/Bay of Biscay service. They have been designed for project cargoes, ro-ro and lo-lo freight, as well as cars and vans, thanks to their dedicated decks for vehicles of this type.
The service rotation starts in the Port of Bilbao on Mondays, calling in at Zeebrugge on Wednesdays and at Antwerp the day after (21 hours). The arrival in the Port of Paldiski is scheduled on Mondays, a week after sailing from Bilbao, before calling in at the ports of St. Petersburg, Kotka, Helsinki and Rauma (the latter three in Finland) over each of the following four subsequent days.
