Representatives of the Port of Bilbao are travelling to the Transport Logistic Fair Munich, to be held 4-7 June ((Hall B4, Puertos del Estado/Spanish State Ports Stand number 306). This biennial transport and logistics event is the most important in Europe. Over 60,000 business people from 125 countries visited the last one.
The Port of Bilbao will inform of its wide range of logistics services, updates regarding digitalisation and innovation, and the surfaces available for new business projects. Bilbao is an experienced multi-purpose port with terminals for all classes of cargo. Among other infrastructures, it boasts the container terminal with the greatest draught in the Iberian Peninsula, as well as perishables and frozen terminals. It is an intermodal port with a rail connection and rail-port traffic is growing year after year (+12% in 2018). It is also a logistics and industrial hub connected to over 900 ports worldwide. In addition, it has an
electronic commerce platform providing 12 services.
Bilbao handles 33.5 million tonnes with the European Atlantic being its main market, followed by the North American Atlantic and the African Atlantic. At the beginning of 2020, there will be 334,000 new square metres available in the Outer Abra, which will offer customers the chance to use the dry ports being developed in Pancorbo (Burgos), whose rail terminal is already in operation, and in Pancorbo (Burgos).
