The Port Authority of Bilbao is one of the entities collaborating with the second “Industry Day” to be held on Wednesday 6 November, and whose objective is to create an awareness of the reality of industry for future professionals. It also aims to stimulate vocations, especially among women, in addition to showing the importance of industry as the engine of the economy in both Biscay and the Basque Country.
The Day is organised by the Biscay Confederation of Metal Companies (Spanish acronym FVEM) for some 1000 Vocational and Baccalaureate students who will visit 33 companies from the territory of Biscay. They will learn of their technology, production processes, professional profiles and capacities for innovation and thus know more about industrial reality from the inside. It is also hoped to banish old prejudices and that the students will get to know first-hand technologically advanced environments.
The finishing touch to the day will be a mass event at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre, where participating students will get together in a central action, which can be followed directly at the diadelaindustria.eus webpage
