Port accessThe Port Authority of Bilbao will be an exhibitor at the XVI National Haulage Companies Congress to be held in Bilbao from 26 to 29 October. At this sectoral event, organised by the Spanish Confederation of Goods Transport (CETM), in collaboration with ASETRAVI, the Business Haulage Association for the Territory of Biscay, the Port Authority will inform of the infrastructures the Port of Bilbao offers for hauliers, its maritime services for transporting lorries, and the services provided by its electronic platform to speed up lorry access to the Port area and terminals as well as reducing port stay time to a minimum.
The main novelty in this respect is that the Port Authority will exhibit the first mobile application to facilitate sending entry pre-notifications to the e-puerto platform. This arrival information from the transport vehicle is transmitted to the port access control system and to the port terminals.
Telematics pre-notifications automate port access with greater flexibility and contribute to the terminals improving their
planning operations, since they can establish their own automatic entry system, as Noatum Container Terminal Bilbao intends to do.
