The Port Authority of Bilbao hosted the one day conference on Corporate Volunteering: a strategic alliance, organized by the Adecco Foundation. Here, experts underlined the value of corporate volunteering as a strategic tool for improving working climates, team output and diversity as an imperative to adapt to market needs.
A guest of honour at the Conference was Pablo Pineda, the first graduate with Down syndrome in Europe. He emphasized that “Diversity is a natural characteristic in society and should be reflected in companies, since the more diverse a staff is, the more ideas and points of view are produced, thereby increasing the possibilities to connect with a wider and more diverse public. Thanks to corporate volunteering, diversity is being promoted, enabling workers to co-exist with incapacitated persons – for example – and showing them that we are talented
as we reinforce values such as effort and a desire for self-improvement.”
