Port accessAround thirty members of the Japan Economic Federation have recently visited the Port of Bilbao. The visit, the main focus of which has been the wind sector and renewable energy in general, was organised by Basque Trade & Investment (the Basque Internationalisation Agency), and is part of a European trip that this business federation is making and which has taken them to Paris, Barcelona and Bilbao.
The delegation was received by Andima Ormaetxe, Director of Operations, Commerce and Logistics of the Port Authority of Bilbao. During the visit, a brief presentation was made of the Port of Bilbao and the competitive advantages it offers, amongst other business types, for traffic of wind power components.
Discussion was also focused on investments related to the energy transition that Bilbao is attracting, and special emphasis was placed on the electrification of the docks that the Port Authority is currently addressing.
