Transmodal 2023 – XV Forum of Intermodal Logistics – will be held on 21 September, with the participation of experts from the transport and intermodal logistics sector
The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Álava and the Port Authority of Bilbao, in collaboration with the Basque Government Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment and the Provincial Council of Álava, will be holding Transmodal 2023 – the XV Intermodal Logistics Forum on Thursday, 21 September. This new edition of one of the most important events for the logistics sector will focus on the challenges and future of logistics.
This forum is also a meeting place for the Port of Bilbao and the freight companies in the area. The port’s firm commitment to intermodal transport in Álava can be seen in the actions it is taking in Jundiz and Arasur, where it has rail terminals that enable goods from the catchment area of these facilities to be brought together and then shipped on scheduled trains.
The opening of Transmodal 2023, to be held at the headquarters of the Chamber of Commerce of Álava, will be attended by Gregorio Rojo, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Álava; Ricardo Barkala, President of the Port Authority of Bilbao; and Arantxa Tapia, Basque Government Minister of Economic Development, Sustainability and the Environment.
Speakers will include Andima Ormaetxe, Director of Operations, Commerce and Logistics of the Port Authority of Bilbao, who will speak on
sustainability and decarbonisation in the port of Bilbao; Ramiro González, Head of the Provincial Council of Álava; Olaia Arrieta, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce of Álava; Mari Lo Peris, Co-Founder and Director of Foro de Logística; María Luisa Melo, Director of Public Affairs and Regulation of DHL Europe; Ana Sardón, Manager of Inbound Logistics and International Supply at Mercedes-Benz Spain; Carmen Pellón, Transport Planner at the Mercedes-Benz Vitoria plant; Gabino Diego, Founder and CEO of Foro de Logística; Elena Collar, Director of Services at EULEN Group; and Beate Soia, Director of Marítimo Norte Aon, the company sponsoring the event.
