Traffic in Port of Bilbao grows 22% until March

Between January and March 8.6 million tonnes was handled in the Port of Bilbao, representing a 22% increase over the same period for last year. Increases of 36% and 28% in solid and liquid bulks respectively stand out. In addition, container goods, those with most added value, grew by 11%, and general cargo maintained similar levels to those of last year.

With regard to markets, those with most growth were the North American Atlantic (+516,000 tonnes), the African Mediterranean (+217,000 tonnes) and Central America and the Caribbean (+204,000 tonnes).
