The XI Transmodal Congress – the Basque Country’s Intermodal Logistics Forum – which will be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz on 3 October – will deal with such themes as dry ports facilitating access to the Port of Bilbao, the consequences of Brexit, the future of rail and road transport in Europe, the contribution made by logistics infrastructures to the development of the global economy and the role of airport infrastructures.
The Congress is organised by the Port Authority of Bilbao and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Alava. It will be opened by Gregorio Rojo García, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Alava; Ricardo Barkala, Chairman of the Port Authority of Bilbao; Antonio Aiz, Vice Minister for Infrastructures and Transport of the Autonomous Basque Government; and Ramiro González, the Deputy General of the Territory of Alava.
Representatives of Deloitte, Captrain, Adif, DSV, FEDEX/TNT, Aena, DHL EXPRESS, Sibport and the Port Authority of Bilbao will be among the speakers. The latter will take part in two different panels: Intermodality – dry ports as facilitators of access to the Port of Bilbao, and the consequences of Brexit, and other international opportunities.
Transmodal will be held in the Alava Chamber of Commerce and the congress has established itself as the reference event for the logistics sector in the Basque Country.
