As from May, the W.E.C. Lines shipping company will run a new twice-weekly rail service between the Intermodal Logistics Centre in La Rioja and the Port of Bilbao.
This new rail connection will bring the U.K. and continental Europe markets closer to companies in La Rioja. W.E.C. Lines is specialised in sea freight transported by containers, and offers short sea shipping routes between the Port of Bilbao and the ports of Moerdijk (the Netherlands) and Thamesport and Liverpool (U.K.).
This new connection further consolidates the intermodal services already provided by W.E.C. Lines to support international low-carbon trade. For its part, the Intermodal Logistics Centre of La Rioja, in the town of Agoncillo, offers storage, logistics and transport solutions, and is a platform for the imports and
exports of companies in La Rioja and neighbouring autonomous regions.
